What is #GivingTuesday?

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. This year help us create #GivingTuesday. A new day for giving back.  On Tuesday November 27, 2012, global charities, families, businesses, community centers, students and more will come together to create #GivingTuesday.

It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Be a part of a national celebration of our great tradition of generosity.

What is Community.givingtuesday.org?

Community.givingtuesday.org is a community for people dedicated to spreading the word about #GivingTuesday and taking collaborative action to give back.  Our goal is to bring individuals, families, organizations, nonprofits, community partners, and more together to share inspiration about #GivingTuesday with each other AND across their social networks.  Here you can learn from like-minded peers, gain access exclusive content, submit your own ideas, and share those exciting messages within your networks!

Content within this community comes not just from the #GivingTuesday team, but also from our many community members – people just like you who are looking to inspire others and be inspired to improve their local communities, give back in better & smarter ways, and help create a better world.   Within this community, you will find everything from service ideas to charity resources, featured videos, and more.
